An alternator doing its thing will do exactly what yours is doing. Check the voltage when it is running and if it is sorth of 14 all is well. If the lights on still results in a centered meter, it is fine, the load does not go through the amp meter to the lights, the only thing seen on the amp meter is battery charge, or discharge. If it is not charging, and as bob indicated the belt is appropriately tight, the battery is full. Just like charging a cell phone, the little indicator says full. Old generators were so poorely regulated that they often charged when they should have stopped. Jim
