The Live Pump Andrew discusses, is located behind the front cover, and in front of the distributor. A Liftall Belly Pump is internal behind the clutch. With a live pump, We would need a picture to see what has been put on it. With a Belly Pump, the fittings on the housing of the tractor (Elbows usually) are all pressure lift, and return combination. The system is intended to use one way cylinders. Lift with spring or gravity return. the right rear port is a delay action port for use with equipment intended to lower after the front, or raise after the front (usually cultivation equipment to finish and start rows fully) Both left and right front ports are hooked together inside and operate like they have a "T" in them going to the pump. So single hoses are used and oil returns through those hoses. It will make about 6 GPM at about 800psi if it is in good shape. Jim

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
