The Hugh MacKay hitch is much stronger than the one I grew up with back in the 50's and 60's. It was Cat 1 and simply bolted up on the final drive hitch points for the rear gangs and the draw bar. It did not have the reinforcing bar included with the MacKay package. It used the same U Bolt attachment on the rock shaft for the top link. We used it to mount a sub-soiler to break up the center of Tobacco rows prior to bedding. It never gave any trouble, but should the sub-soiler hit a stump it would put the driver through the steering wheel (our farm was new ground cleared in 1949)! I hated that particular job. We never broke anything on the tractor, but I got awful bruised up.
