Sometimes if you have no load on the tractor when shifting to TA, it's hard to notice the shift. Like Bk... said, put a load on it. If you have a hill you can pull a wagon or something up, do that and pull the lever... you will know if it's working then. Also like he said, it's not meant to run in TA (low) all the time, just thru the hard spots. I see on here all the time where someone says he runs in 3rd low for disking or plowing and I wonder how long their TA will last. Maybe on the later versions it's okay, but not the earlier ones that I was familiar with... 350/450/460/560.
