The pins coming loose has always been a problem for those tractors. There was a kit available to convert them to the later style with square pins which does help. They also replaced the casting on the outer end so that the shaft can be installed without removing the pins. The old casting can be reworked to accomplish the same thing. The gate assembly the the inner pin goes through was also changed from a one piece assembly to three pieces for easier shifting with the square pin.
