So, my grille is rough, and looking to replace it (I also know the rad will have to be replaced also). I have found some grille's that have a round rad cap hole, and some that have the slot at the rear. I know that one takes the round rad cap, and the other take the cap with the "wing" on it.
Can anyone tell me what year the cutover was from the round to the "winged" rad caps? I am guessing that the '42 was just a round hole.
The non-pressurized radiators with the Dzus fasteners to attach the grill ALL use the round radiator cap. Incidently, that round cap WILL interchange with the fuel tank cap.
The later, pressurized radiators ALL use the "winged" cap.
