Today my Dad bought a Farmall C,a 1950 I think. He got it for $700.00 and would have got it for less but one old boy didn't want him to get to much of a bargin. It has an 8 volt battery and a mag. with an 12 alt. The alt is not working and the tractor had to be jumped cause of dead battery. My question is this. Will a 12 alt. harm an 8 volt batt. or the magneto. I have a Super C but it has the 12 volt battery and alt with a dist. and coil and what I think is a resister so I was unsure if the set up on Dads C is ok.It has the largest set of wheel weights I have ever seen on a farmall, they bow out and cover the entire wheel,I'm not sure if they are IH or aftermarket something. I took lots of photos I'll post when I get them back.Would love to get some of your opinons on the electrical setup from you pro's out there.
