FInally a problem with something other than my F-14!Budy of mine bought a F-12.No serial no. plate but by the casting codes its a 36.WHen he got it it had a hole in the block,so he bought a block that is a 35.We rebuilt it and this morning was the first time we fired it off.We wore our arms out turning the crank so we tried pulling it.It hits and misses alot but will not start. It occasionally backfires and when it does it sounds like its doing it on the intake stroke like its sucking in the backfire.Checked engine timing and mag timing and all is right on.No sticking valves and its getting gas to the plugs. All of the usual has been done so I can rule out plugs,wires.points,etc. Any clues?
