595013 is the serial number. This makes it a "Quietline" Cub Cadet. They were built by International between 10/74 and 9/79. Yours was built right around August of '76. The first part of the number does give the model number, 205 is an International built garden tractor, 0580 makes it a model 1200, the U means it was built in the USA.
Here's how to decipher a quietline model number:
The first two digits of the machine are the engine horsepower. The last two digits indicate gear(00)or hydro (50) trans. A 1650 is a 16 horse hydro, a 1200 is a 12 horse gear drive, a 1000 is a 10 horse gear drive, etc. Find the model number of the engine. It's on a sticker and will be K301, K321, etc. K241 is a 10HP, K301 is 12, K321 is 14, K341 is 16.
So, with all that said, you have a 12 horsepower gear drive tractor with a Kohler K301 engine.
Check out ihregistry.com It's a site dedicated to Cub Cadets. You will find lots of info (all the manuals etc), and there's a forum and classifieds section. I'm on there quite a bit and the guys there really know their stuff.
Let me know if you need more info

He had over a period of months spent a fair amount of his hard earned cash on replacement parts for the old "trembler" ignition. Sadly though all his efforts seemed to be a waste of time and money as he still couldn''t get the temperamental old thing to run correctly!! If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
