Originally posted 5/6 (thanks for advice) tractor stalled after working about 15 to 20 minutes. Will now not start, tries to run but fires out exhaust pipe? Have had tractor about 10 months normally easy to start as long as you catch it when it first fires; otherwise seems to flood? Replaced plugs, points, condenser, cap and rotor all appeared old. Spark at all four plugs. Please help with suggestions? since then compression is (1)70,(2)80,(3)85,(4)90 - not great but still should run? will not start fires out both exhaust and intake - Have spark, Air, Fuel. I think that indeed the cam/timing gears have broken or slipped? I have removed the valve cover and all valves are opening and closing - how is this possible if the timing gears are broken, since there is no chain is it possible for the gears to jump? Not break but jump teeth?
Many thanks to all for discussion, help, advice and pictures.
