My dad had a 47 H with the button on the left side of the steering post. I have a 41 H that had it at the bottom of the post. I don't remember if the 47 post had the hole at the bottom. If yours does NOT have a hole in the middle or so of the post, it should have one at the bottom. If it has both all bets are off. I'm not an total originality nut as far as relatively minor details, and prefer the button on the post. Foot slips off too easily at the bottom. As to the wiring, you can get a lot of that type of questions answered with an operators manual-www.binder books.com.
