Does any know how IHC assembled the king pin to the wheel axle on a wide front M ?
Mine looks like the king pin was a separate piece that was assembled to the wheel spindle. It looks like the wheel spindle was machined with a thru hole and then the king pin was put into the machined hole. The king pin has a clearly visable center in the bottom. The king pin does not go quite to the bottom of the hole machined in the wheel spindle and you can see a machined surface that the king pin does not cover up. No pins, welds, or theads are evident in the joint between the two parts. Is it just a heavy press fit ? Is the king pin a cylindrical surface in the joint ?
The top of my king pin has been ruined. I would like to replace or repair the king pin.
