The small IH British tractors did things two ways.
One bunch had the same engine makes, gas or diesel. Direct swap. B-275, B-414, 3414, 354, 364, 434, etc. All had BD or BC 144 and 154 engines.
But the 424 used a different design engine for gas then it did for diesel. C146 for gas and the BD154 for diesel. 444 did sort of the same with the C153 gas or BD154 diesel. I have no idea if they used adapters and/or special flywheels to make those two different engine designs fit the same tractor.
