I have a 1954 McCormick-Deering Super WD-9,runs great, love it. Just seemed to develop this power issue almost over night. Tractor has a new battery and started great. I washed the tractor, ran it for an hour or so more, then shut in down and let is sit or the next couple days. Went to start it today and it was dead. Boosted it and ran it for almost 4 hours and it was still dead immediately after shutting it down. There are no lights on the tractor to leave on and as far as I know, nothing to draw power when the tractor is off. As far as I know the tractor is a positive ground, and I believe if you hook it up wring the generator will pull charge from your battery. I think the generator is not charging, can anyone tell me how to test this. Also how to test the external voltage regulator. And how do I know if it is supposed to be a positive or negative ground system? right now the pos. cable is running to the chassis. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.
