Ive had my carb rebuilt, but it still dont start. Itall occasionally pop and puff, thats about it, then the plugs load up with gas and thats it. I know in my mind 99% that the problems in the carb, but that other 1% wonders if it might have a weak mag/dist. I dont remember which it is, as ive been busy on the other side of the tractor. Could the mag/dist suddenly throw out a weak spark to where the engine wouldnt fire hot enough to ignite the gas, and im useing Ethyel. I dont think that that should be the problem, because, even if it was, the carb loads up with gas, and even useing the choke VERY spareingly, (I stop chokeing it the first puff I get.), The gas just runs out of the carb. To satisfy the rebuilder, is there anyway I can tell if the spark is hot enough to do the trick, or not.
Normally, I would take it to a mag/dist shop and have it checked if it was on my H or Case, Them, I could take the hammermill belt and belt one to the other and just run the wires in correct order till it fired up. I dont know if I can run the belt with a cub, and I hate doing the timeing the tried and true way, ESPECIALLY on a Cub.
