In that condition it does seem cheap. We had a 1566 and a 1586 - both were pretty good tractors that racked up serious hours.
While speed is an issue to a degree (a lot of 3rd low operation for tillage), if you have big enough equipment you can trade ground speed for a wider swath.
While 30 years ago these were the big field horses at 150 to a 160 hp the new standard is 180-220 hp + with front wheel assist.
