Yes and regularly! I have a 4000psi/4gpm pressure washer that I use the clean up my projects before I start working on them. I use the 15 degree nozzle and hit it as hard and close as it takes to clean them up. I don't pre clean and I don't cover anything. However I don't spray the generator/alternator directly. I do budget new pan and valve cover gaskets as I seem to always blow them out or maybe they were bad & leaking to begin with hence the need to power wash. I usually want to pull the oil pan and and clean the oil pump screen and pan any way. I also will usually adjust the valves when the valve cover is off and have been known to power wash the valve train and oil gallys, from the top and bottom,when they are particularly filthy. I do remove the plug wires and don't stay on the hydraulic lines too long. My washer will cut through those. Don't stay on the axle seals too long as they are easy to damage. But again they were probably bad or their wouldn't be a bunch of crud to have to clean up. Once they are cleaned up I use the soap tip to apply soap and a wide nozzle to rinse with. Routine washings are not nearly as hard or close as the initial cleanup of a 50 year old greasy tractor. I have been power washing my engines for 30 years and grew up hand washing them before that. This obsession was handed down from my grandfather to my father to me. He/We/I washed equipment long before anybody else around us did and some still don't.
