The governor can be installed in any of 18 different positions. 1 right and 17 wrong. Since the drive slot allows two positions 180 degree apart, there are still 9 possibilities. I have never had good luck timing engines to fire at other than the correct time. Wouldn't it be better to assemble the engine so a mag could be used any time in the future, since it is no more difficult? Presently, only one of my Cubs has a mag, but I may convert others if I find more J-4 mags. I intend to time them correctly if they are ever dis-assembled. That's why the marks are there.
