I just wanted to follow up. I ended up getting a rebuild delco alternator fro O'Reilly. The one close to me is an old school auto parts store that was bought buy a big chain, these guys know their stuff. The see me a fun change of pace when I come in with tractor problems. Anyway, I put the diode in the new wire I had to run, hooked it all up and the H started charging as soon as I started it! Thanks a lot for all of the help, it feels good to get this fixed.
