Wish I could but the engine is locked up in cyl 3 and 4. (rusty bores) And if the head gasket or cyl head was bad it should have showed up in the press check (spark plugs where out)And the pressure test held pressure for a hour (14 psi) I would like to save the the engine thats in the tractor. But if its a cracked block its junk. If its junk I have engine out of a IH 305 combine, 303 ci 6 cly that runs great that I can make work with some fab work. I just don't want to waste my time tearing down the stock engine and sending it it for magnaflux to find out its scrap.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
