Check to be certain it's not just the keyway and arm on the bottom. If it is loose there, it's possible to rotate the gear/shaft 180 and cut new keyways in the shaft and arm. On my 240U, the gears looked like new, but the shaft (one piece with the gear) and arm were shot. It had already been rotated 180, so I had to replace the parts, but it had evidently been re-worked at some time. Easy to see... if the nut on the bottom of the shaft starts to rotate before the arm, that's the problem.
