Cause of anti-freeze in oil pan on 826

I have a 1971 826 that I mostly use to pull a 15' pasture cutter. It has just over 7,000 hours and never been overhauled. It burns about a quart of oil every 12-16 hours of use on the cutter. When I changed the oil this year for the first time, the first fluid out of the pan was about a teaspoon of anti-freeze water. What causes this? Is this a serious problem?
