Good news, although I feel very idiotic. The blades are wrong!! It was a wonder that the mower was cutting at all. I think my confusion came because I never mowed with a Cub before and replaced the old blades even before I made my first cut. Not knowing how a mower was to cut, I just thought that they all looked like that. Its strange that I got the wrong ones cause when I ordered them from the local True Value, they knew that the PTO went the other way and said the the blades were different for that reason, so I assumed that I got the correct blades without checking. Fortunately, I did not throw away the old blades and, after comparison, put them back on last night and presto! Great mowing again!!
