I prefer to have one curved and one straight. A curved one works better for taking the first bead off and I used both for the second bead. I use both for putting them on. A new helper I hired this year prefers a 6 inch curved for putting the first bead on. I need to see how he does it. So it is personal preference. My Dad only used leaf springs from a Model T his whole live. Knowing the tricks is more important than the tools.
