I also have a 444, mine is diesel, I learned the hard way about the hydralics. The owners manual mentions it but it is not stated as strongly as I think it should be. When you are useing the remotes you have to shut the valve that is just below the front of the seat angled to the right. I am assuming that your tractor also has 3 point hitch. International made these tractors (and most likely simular models) with this valve to somewhat isolate the 2 diffrent hydralic componets - 3 point hitch and hydralic remotes. So you have to use them as seperate systems using the same pump, resivor and filters.
