Makes absolutely no difference which position the TA is in. Its improper adjustment and engaging the TA to slow a load that takes them out. I have a 706 I and my dad before me fed cattle with in the winter until recently. It has 7000 some hours with the original TA. We have always ran it in HI third TA because that's the gear that matches the work best. Lots of misinformation about TA's!
