Well there you go, it is indeed an "R" suffix, and the IPTO I located is all the way across the country. Sounds like there's quite a few internal pieces needed to drive that critter, is it a fairly easy install/replacement, or would you have to break it apart? The parts would be available off the donor tractor, but the price could be prohibitive if it's a big job to pull them. Sure would be sweet for mowing, as I wanted to get away from the tranny-driven PTO on my 8N. I really like the tractor, spunky-sounding little critter and not too beat up, and it came reeel cheeep- if it had power steering and IPTO, it would be very sweet Many thanks, gents

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
