Just do like I do, I keep a bed full of post holes in the back of my pickup. I always have one when I need it. Of course they are a little work to install, especially if the post hole is 24 inches long and I hit rock at 12 inches.
I threw my post hole diggers away, I've never wanted to dig one back up after I'd installed it. I bought a pair of post hole installers used to remove the dirt from where the post hole is to go. You just pile the dirt up, install the post hole (I am a careful digger and always seem to get a good fit), stick the post in and use some of the dirt to fill in between the post and the post hole.
