If you have clean fuel, and a clean tank, there is no real need for it. A good used one can be found at salvage yards for little money. Another solution is to use a good (gravity system compatible) fuel filter. NAPA has them. Put it into the line near the carb and all is well. Cheap plastic filters will not flow well, and plug up easily. Jim
