With the wire to the distributor removed from the distributor, see if there is voltage on the wire with the ignition on. If not, see if there is voltage on the other side of the coil. if not the ignition is not getting power (either from the switch, or through the amp meter to the switch, or to the amp meter from the starter switch. If power is there, at the wire to the dist., put the coil wire about 1/8" away from the block and then brush the wire against bare metal (you are acting like points) it should spark the gap at the coil wire. if it does not, the coil is probably bad. If it does, the points are not working to make and break the circuit. Gap is .020" when they are open and the rubbing block is on the high point of the distributor cam. Jim
