The old valves may have been butt ground to smooth the stem end prior to your measuring them. The two lengths are for either distillate head (shorter) or gasoline only (longer) I do not know the spec, but I believe they are substantially longer for distillate heads. Look at the distance from the retainer groove to the butt for a comparison, rather than overall length. I believe they are OK at those differences, but will deffer to others with specifications in hand. Jim
