According to the Autolite Tech rep I talked to a couple years ago their 3116 was the recomended plug for IH's 4 cylinder engines in their "letter" series tractors & the 386 was recomended for IH's 6 cylinder gas engines in the 60,06,& 56 series tractors. Rep said those recomendations were based on today's gasoline.
