Okay, just started again after it sat for about 2 hours. Started it up and to my suprise it was showing a 6amp charge. I turned the lights on with the engine at 3/4 and got a 9amp discharge. I turned the lights off and the amp meter went to 0 and no longer showed a charge. Do VR work intermittantly? Is this because as you said the 3rd brush on the gen needs to be moved? Let me konw and I'll put this to rest. Thanks so much for your direction and input!!!!
