If you did not put a retainer on when you removed the pulley, the bushing probably worked off and now you have a gap between the shaft and seal. If you remove the three bolts holding on the seal holder and pull if off, you will see the bearing and the shoulder on the shaft (the bushing may ride against the bearing inner race) that the bushing rides against. I think you can buy the bushing and the retainer sleeve at an IH dealer. Or you can find a salvage place and get them. Looking at my parts info ( a little hard to make out) I think the bushing is part number 43630D and the retainer is 48087DB. The parts info calls these spacers. The one the seal runs on is 43630D and the other one is the one that goes over the splines when you take off the belt pulley.
