Red, All good comments. As you remember, I had found a bullpinion bearing that was missing some balls on my M last summer. I had to remove the bull gear and the axle carrier/axle unit as one in order to remove the bull pinion. I did not have to remove the deck. Biggest problem was getting the bull gear back on the axle working through the pto hole. I ended up using some longer bolts to help hold the axle carrier(housing)in place so I could manuever the bull gear onto the end of the axle shaft inside the rearend. That bull gear is heavy and awkward to move around not alone getting it raised up to slide onto the axle. Good luck. FB
