More info needed: does it turn over, but too slowly to start it? ...or does it simply not turn over at all? If it turns over well but doesn't catch, it may be the timing is just a tad off, turning over slow could be the battery cable issue, could be a voltage regulater/charging issue, sometimes those 6v batteries have been sitting around so long before you buy them, they go bad fairly quick. If it's not turning over at all you could be shorting out somewhere or the selonoid could be bad, or you could have a problem with the starter drive meshing with the ring gear, or as stated...the battery.
