This one was 6 volt generator, alternator conversion by previous owner, but poor mount that permitted the alternator to wiggle while running. And it was a Delco 10DN. The 68 384 C91 mount is priced at over $258.00 and the tensioning brace 368 574 R3 is over $28.00. I now have shop-made bracket and brace that will work well, but much work remains on the tractor until it is running again. The alternator from the wrecking yard turns out to be a Delco 15SI, a little larger than 10SI. It has pulley and fan just like the 10SI. Near here are stores of three major auto parts chains. One of the stores has old tester with analog voltmeter and the person must hold belt tension for testing the alternator. Tested bad there. Another store has unit where the compartment is closed after the alternator is mounted and the results show on a screen. Tests regulator, diodes and voltage output separately. All tested good on that machine, so I think that is correct. Other than the rotor and the stator, are repair parts for the 10SI and 15SI interchangeable if my unit does not work?

Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
