I think a lot of the bad reputation on the IH balers were due to the McCormick 45 balers. Dad bought one (his first baler) back in late 60's or very early 70's, and it was a nightmare, especially for a kid who was made to ride on those twine boxes and tie bad knots. Last time I saw that baler it was sitting where he parked it. I kept most of dads equipment, but had no use for that baler. It had sunk into the ground to the point I could not pull it loose (did not try too hard) or it would have gone to the scrap man after dad passed on.
