The most important thing when re-using sleeves is whether or not the sleeve is egg shaped or "out of round". various oversize pistons and rings are available. If the sleeves have ridge, then use a ridge reamer and then hone. Mic the sleeve, and get the appropriate oversize rings.
there are also other considerations too, like if the bore size is much bigger than the pistons, rings won't cure that.
There are many factor's to consider when reusing sleeves and pistons, but if you take them into account, the engine can run like new if you get things right.
