Sorry for a question that has perhaps been asked many times before. I'm restoring an H and would like to think about getting some new rubber for it. I've got both front and rear hubs that originally supported steel wheels. These were torched and then welded to rims which currently hold rubber. The rubber I've got is 12.4-38 and 6-16. It reads right on the rear tire that 12.4-38 replaces 11-38 which is one of the sizes recommended in the original manual. The manul states that 10-40, 11.25-36, and 9-36 are suggested sizes; what do you guys say? And, what about the front? The only other front suggestion is 5.5-16 which doesn't seem that much different from what's on there now (6-16). Thanks. Also .. I'm planning on painting the outer rims silver and spokes and hub red - does that sound right?
