The housing that it's in (in the front of the engine) has two bolts on top that hold it together. You have to disconnect the radiator hose first then undo the bolts. If it doesn't come apart when those bolts come loose I would just get a flat screw driver and try to pry it open. If it's anything like mine itll have a lot of corosion and crap keeping it together. I'm not sure about the different thermostats though
