There is no reason to do so if it runs great. If you need to, you will need to decide if you want to stay with a generator, or use an alternator. A 12v generator, VR, battery, coil (or ballast resistor, and light bulbs are needed. It will use original wiring all the way (except if you keep the coil and use a ballast resistor. If going with an alternator, I would use a Hitachi from a mid 80s Nissan PU. Wired as shown in the attached diagrams from Bob M. The Hitachi alternator terminals are "I" equals the Delco 10SI # 1 terminal. The S terminal equals the Delco #2 terminal. Jim
