Hey folks,
I have a German made Farmall. 3cyl diesel 26HP with a Bosch starter w/ the following info. My starter doesn't kick in all the time the first time (acts like a solenoid). Only option for me is a rebuilt starter to the tune of about 500 bucks. Just picked up a freebie that has been laying on a shelf in a guy's barn for a bunch of years. It bench tests good, no loose/noisy bushings, etc. found a couple websites where I can get a solenoid and brushes but they are real proud of them. Thought maybe some of you may be able to cross reference and see if parts are available in the States or if an entire starter is available. The tractor motor is a DD-111.
What parts should I be looking at if it bench tests OK? Just solenoid and brushes? Thanks for any tips. OEM number is 711104R91
Dave
On the nose piece is LLG 46E2
On the Body is
Bosch Made in Germany 000 1354 074
12V 1.8 PS 801 (the 1.8PS means 1.8 horsepower)
On the solenoid is 0331400003 12V 30
gear is 1 1/2 inch diameter w/ 10 teeth
I don't know why this starter was removed. Been laying around for quite a few years according to the guy that gave it to me. When I bench test it, it kicks in and seems to work fine and quiet, Everything seems tight.
Would like to find a new switch, drive, and brushes if anyone knows where I might find them.
Thanks, Dave

Most judgements on what should be purchased rather than fabricated stem from: Originality - If the tractor restoration is to be 100% original, it is likely that you should spend the time and money to locate the component in the used or New-old-stock market.
