The 10 to 50 hrs is my exprience using new coils and your problem may be the condencer. Let's work with what you have left. On the 70 ford PU you should have disconnected a wire from the switch that had a heavy cloth-like cover.This wire goes to the switch and is the resistr wire and the coil was a 12v reguiring external resistor that the wire supplied. Remove this wire from the PU and use as the wire to coil on tractor.Do not cut it use the entire length.Use coil fron granada and a new condencer for your tractor.
