My 240U had failed me a couple of weeks ago... just would not start at all. No spark, so I hit the local TSC and picked up an ignition tune-up set and Autolite plugs. The recommended plugs were different than what was in there. Found the points had been installed with only about 1/2 making contact... movable part was not completely pushed in. Changed parts and now it is running like a top again. Just couldn't believe it didn't show any sign of not running good when I shut it down and a week later it wouldn't fire at all. Looks like one plug was not firing at all, but it sounded and ran okay. Maybe if I pulled it hard it would have been more obvious, but all I do is grade my long drive and use the loader once in a while.
