On a late 140 thats the starter switch. #12 went to starter, other large cable to battery. Think the smaller wire at battery cable terminal went to the ampmeter. Think the other small wire went to a neutral start switch. maybe they have it straight to switch. If there's a terminal for another small wire it would go to the ignition resistor or coil. Can't remember for sure, could count the number of late 140 tractors looked at on the fingers of one hand with some left over. Some came with a altenator and negative ground I think.
