The tractor was 6v positive ground when new. If it has a generator it probably still is. If it has an alternator, it is far mor likely negative ground. The cables will have two different sizes on the terminals. they are clearly different, but need to be looked at carefully. I would match those with a new battery. If in doubt, take a picture of the battery posts, and the generator/or alternator, and let us look at it. Jim
