It is not likely that the clutch pressure adjustment changed.
Was the PTO running when it came apart? If it was it is possible that when it separated the end came around and locked up against the draw bar and cause the clutch to slip. That could have damaged the clutch pack.
If the PTO was not running, the sliding shaft may have jammed before it came apart and forced the PTO shaft forward in the PTO unit. I've seen this happen where it breaks the snap ring groove out of the rear housing allowing the clutch assembly to move forward in the housing. This causes the oil sealing rings to leak resulting in lowered apply pressure to the clutch pack.Either way the PTO assembly has to be removed for repair.
