I have a '47 M and have the M&W live pump on it. My son put the pump on and did not install the heavier gear as referred to by Nebraska Kirk. about the first good stress on the loader, the gear broke -- not a good deal. He had to replace the gear. The tractor had an old power steering unit with its own pump which I removed and am running that off of the live pump through a priority valve. Everything was working well until I started using a 3-point log splitter. I split quite a lot of wood with no problem and then the hydraulics started getting slower and slower and now will barely lift the loader very slowly and seems very spongy like air in the system or foaming fluid, but it doesn't seem to be either of those problems or low fluid level. Am wondering if the pump could be worn and if it can be rebuilt or if anyone has any experience similar to this -- would appreciate any information.
