The IHC H4 magneto has TWO sets of timing marks on the rotor drive gearset. One is for conventional rotation (A,B,C,H,M,W4 and W6); the other for reverse rotation (W9 gas and gas-start diesels).
If it's set for the wrong rotation the mag cannot be properly timed to the engine.
